gpn16 Public Hearings CITY OF PORTERDALE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS Notice is hereby given to the general public that the City of Porterdale has received applications from Newton County Water and Sewer Authority, requesting annexation and zoning of two tracts of property located as follows: Two tracts of property, consisting of approximately 11.79 and 30.79 acres, located at the end of Riverfront Road, as more particularly set out in the legal descriptions appearing below. The address of the 11.79 acre tract is 90 Riverfront Road, Covington, Georgia 30014-3419. The adjacent 30.79 acre does not have a separate address. The owner respectfully requests that the adjacent 30.79 acre tract also be given the address of 90 Riverfront Rd, Covington, Georgia 30014-3419 Legal descriptions: 11.79 acre tract All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in Cedar Shoals District, 10th District, Newton County, Georgia containing 12acres more or less and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point on the East side of the Yellow River at a concrete marker; thence running South 58 degrees and 28 Minutes East along other property of Grantor, 625 Feet to an iron pin corner; thence running North 58 Degrees and 28 Minutes West along property of Bibb, 625 Feet to the East side of Yellow River; thence meandering Northerly along the East side of Yellow River 850 Feet to point of beginning. A more complete description of said tract of land by which reference is hereto made, is plat of same dated February 3, 1971, and recorded in plat book 8, page 124 of Clerk's Office, Newton Superior Court. 30. 79 acre tract: All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in Land Lot 97 of the 10th District of Newton County, Georgia, and being designated as Tract 25-C containing 30.81 acres as shown on that survey for William C. Glawson, Jr., prepared by James M. Paul, GA RLS #1530, which plat is recorded in Dead Book 665, Page 213, which plat by reference hereto is incorporated herein for a more particular and accurate description of said property. Tract 25-C is a portion of Tract 22-C containing 64.86 acres and 22-13 containing 7.78 acres for a combined total of 72.73 acres as shown on that plat of survey recorded jn Plat Book 20, Page 72, Newton County Records. The above two tracts have now been divided into Tract 23-C , 24-C, 25-C, per the survey shown at Deed Book 665, Page 213, Newton county Records. The present zoning classification of each of the properties made the subject of the applications are Newton County A-R (Agricultural/Public Utility). A Public Hearing with the Porterdale Zoning Commission, as provided by law, is scheduled for Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 7:00pm, at Porterdale City Hall, 2400 Main Street, Porterdale, Georgia, to consider said requests and conduct a public hearing and forward recommendations on the requests to the Mayor and City Council for consideration and final decision at a Public Hearing before the Mayor and City Council scheduled for Monday, July 3, 2017 at 6:30pm, at Porterdale City Hall, 2400 Main Street, Porterdale, Georgia. Any opponent of the proposed rezoning action that has made, within two years immediately preceding the filing of the rezoning action, campaign contributions aggregating $250.00 or more to a local government official that will consider the application, must file a disclosure with the Porterdale Zoning Commission showing the name, and official position of the city official to whom the contribution was made, and the dollar amount and description of each campaign contribution made to the city official. The disclosure shall be filed at least five calendar days prior to the public hearing on the zoning application by the Porterdale Zoning Commission.
